They say that no press is bad press, but I’ll be damned if I let this hugely offensive trailer for Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z slip under the radar without passing comment on it.
The Ninja Gaiden series has been on the decline for a while now, so it seems that developer Team Ninja has come to the conclusion that to grab our attention, Ninja Gaiden Z needs to be as obnoxious and downright misogynistic as possible.
The trailer, which begins with the titular protagonist Yaiba requesting that his underdressed assistant Miss Monday “take a suck,” also sees our “hero” unironically referring to his female comrade as “sugar tits,” before asking whether or not his x-ray vision will enable him to see through her clothes, then politely telling her to “shut the f*ck up.”
It’s downright disgusting, with the dialogue sounding like it came from the pen of a lecherous sex offender rather than a team of paid professionals. It’s shocking in the worst way possible, and everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves.
