VIDEO: Inside Wasteland Weekend

We've all fantasized about living through the end of the world — but the attendees of Wasteland Weekend have taken it a step further.

For the fourth year in a row, diehard fans of some bleak future-fiction took to the southern California desert, transforming a section into a post-apocalyptic wonderland inspired by films like the Mad Max trilogy and Fallout.

And this is no half-assed production… They go all out — with tricked-out cars, cool costumes and ramshackle buildings that make contemporary society seem like a thing of the past. There's even a battle dome! We headed out to the desert to experience this post-disaster party scene, and it did not disappoint. In fact, it's so much fun, you might start thinking that the end of the world can't come soon enough.

But then, you should stop.  Wishing for the end of the world?  That's just a little morbid, don't ya think?

And did we mention it's adults only? No kids allowed to the planet's death rattle, apparently…I guess that would also be a little morbid.

No matter where you stand on the last days of civilization, check out all the cool sights and sounds from Wasteland Weekend 2013!
