Week 12 Pickups
-
Bobby Rainey RB - Tampa Bay (26% owned)
Is it RAINing in Tampa? Do the Bucs win with RAIN man?...Go ahead and insert your favorite "Rain" pun here. The undrafted rookie exploded against the Falcons Sunday with 163 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. 12 of his carries went for five or more yards. He's clearly the go-to guy on a weak team with Doug Martin and Mike James injured and Brian Leonard not producing at the same level. Rainey is a must-own. Start him as a flex at the very least.
-
Jarrett Boykin WR - Green Bay (50% owned)
Boykin has 14 catches and over 200 yards receiving in his last two games...without Aaron Rodgers. He's averaged nine points over his last five games total. How is Boykin only owned in half of leagues? I want you to stop watching TV, put down your potato chips and go see if he's avaialbe in your league immediately.
-
Miles Austin WR - Dallas (25% owned)
Dez Bryant is clearly the No. 1 option in Dallas but all reports are saying Austin will be 100 percent for the Giants this weekend. Will the combo be a definitive one-two punch for Tony Romo? Hard to say, but the Cowboys are a throw first team and Terrance Williams hasn't quite produced the numbers many fantasy owners had hoped. I think Austin needs to be owned in more than 25 percent of leagues considering he's been a top producer before and if healthy could put up a few really good weeks before the end of the season.
-
Montee Ball RB - Denver (36% owned)
Ball is still going to split carries with Knowshon Moreno in a pass-happy offense, but after scoring twice against the Chiefs Sunday he's been a solid Monday pickup. It's hard to say how many looks Ball will get game-to-game but he should be owned as a handcuff at the very least.
-
Shane Vereen RB - New England (58% owned)
Another star returning from injury is Vereen, who is coming off the short-term IR in time for Monday night's game. The Patriots say they will 'ease' him into action, and he obviously won't see more touches than Stevan Ridley, but I still think Vereen needs to be stashed on your bench. Remember how amazing Tom Brady's receiving corps has been this year?... The Patriots want to run the ball more and Vereen is young enough to still provide a spark.
