CES 2014 VIDEO: Tao Wellshell

How much do you know about isometrics?

Basically, it's the method of squeezing your way to better health, applying pressure across your body to build core strength.  It's the principle behind the positive health effects of yoga and Pilates.

But can you build strength — or even lose weight — while you sit in front of the TV, casually squeezing away the pounds?

At CES 2014, Nevada-based company Tao Wellness unveiled their new fitness gizmo the Tao Wellshell, which is basically one of the most high-tech stress balls you'll ever see.

The Tao Wellshell not only functions as an on-the-go exercise center (featuring pressure sensors and a gyroscope to help you build strength while you squeeze), but it also monitors your heart rate, works as a pedometer, connects via Bluetooth to serve as a video game controller and even features a 3-D tutorial on exactly where you should be squeezing for better effectiveness.

You'll never think of exercise the same way again.

Check out our quickie introduction to the Tao Wellshell from the floor at CES.
