Fresh off news of Michael Douglas playing Hank Pym in Ant-Man come rumors about a female lead for the movie.
Crave’s CinemaBlend reported Tuesday that Marvel is taking a look at Bryce Dallas Howard or Rashida Jones to play opposite Paul Rudd in Edgar Wright’s film adaptation of Ant-Man.
There is no explanation of what role the ladies might play, as the traditional romance for Ant-Man, albeit Hank’s Pym’s Ant-Man, was Janet Van Dyne, the Wasp. Jones has worked with Rudd multiple times before so she might have the edge on the chemistry level. We’ll see.
Oh yeah, apparently Marvel is also looking at Michael Pena, who is about to play Cesar Chavez, for some unidentified role in the movie.
Ant-Man is expected to open July 31, 2015.
