The Amazing Spider-Man Becomes The Amnesiac Spider-Man

Well, we know Peter Parker is returning in March, but with the revelation of a new Infinite Comic series called Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?, we also know it’s not going to be sunshine and roses when he returns… because Peter’s going to lose his memories. What’s worse, he may become a supervillain because he doesn’t know any better.

Longtime Spider-Man scribe Dan Slott is overseeing Joshua Hale Fialkov as he crafts this new 13-part story designed specifically for reading on mobile devices by the artistic team of Juan Bobillo and Antonio Fabela, with layouts from Geoffo Beauleau and JL Mast.

“The story starts with Peter Parker having lost all of his memory. He doesn’t know who he is. He’s in the process of robbing a bank,” says Fialkov. “If you remove identity and get to the core of who Peter Parker really is, is he a hero? Would he act as a hero, when presented with the opportunities of a villain?”

“The balance becomes, ‘If I’m robbing banks, how do I rob banks responsibly? How do I be as good a guy as possible while being a bad guy?’ Having those two things rubbing up against each other is so much fun to play with,” he adds. One has to wonder how badly this turn of events will damage Peter’s already destroyed reputation, thanks to Otto Octavius’ shenanigans.

Speaking of Infinite Comics, there’s a current series going on right now called Deadpool: The Gauntlet, where the Merc with a Mouth gets mouthy with Dracula. Infinite Comics are pretty cool.
