Yesterday, Fox rolled out the first picture from “Gotham” — the upcoming Batman prequel TV series — featuring Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock. Today, Fox is continuing the role out with the first official look at Camren Bicandova as Selina Kyle.
From all reports, this will be Bicandova’s first major role as an actress. And Selina Kyle is better known to Batman fans as Catwoman, an adventurous thief who often crosses paths with the Dark Knight. Anne Hathaway most recently portrayed the character in The Dark Knight Rises.
Even though “Gotham” is set several years before Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) becomes Batman, it seems inevitable that Bruce and Selina will meet on this show prior to adopting their famous alteregos. In this version of the tale, Selina will also be slightly older than Bruce.
Although “Gotham” will feature the young Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle along with earlier versions of Batman’s most famous foes, the focus will tend to be on McKenzie’s Detective James Gordon as he navigates the difficult waters of the Gotham P.D. alongside Bullock.
Fox has previously ordered “Gotham” straight-to-series, which means that it will likely debut this fall.
