Give it up to Respawn…their method of dealing with pilots found trying to scam their Titan into the top reaches of the Titanfall world is pretty damn awesome.
Their thinking: why ban players caught employing cheats from playing the game…when you can instead just banish them to an even more hellish fate, battling only other illegally souped-up bots in the “Wimbledon of aimbot contests.”
In a post Wednesday on the official Titanfall website — reposted by Crave gaming site Destructoid — Respawn explains that FairFight has been cataloging cheaters ID’ed since the game launched — and as of last Friday, they’re banning those unscrupulous pilots.
But they aren’t getting kicked out of the game entirely…
Great news: you get to keep playing Titanfall! Less-great news: you only get to play with other cheaters. You can play with other banned players in something that will resemble the Wimbledon of aimbot contests. Hopefully the aimbot cheat you paid for really is the best, or these all-cheater matches could be frustrating for you. Good luck.
Oh, that’s just devilishly good…
These cheaters wanted to win so badly that they paid for (or at least, sought out) an unfair advantage…so after being tagged as a cheater, if those players can continue to play a version of Titanfall — even a hopelessly screwed-up version with other ridiculously over-powered Titans — you KNOW those guys will do it.
But the frustration of playing in this no-nuance, one-shot-and-out universe of rigged machines is gonna absolutely drive them nuts. And they’ll STILL probably keep playing.
It’s an eternal purgatory for Titanfall sinners worthy of Dante.
Nice work, gentlemen…
