Blumhouse Productions are not known for wasting time. Barely a year after the release of The Purge, in which Ethan Hawke protected his homestead on a yearly holiday when all crime is declared legal in the United States, they’re already coming out with the sequel: The Purge: Anarchy. Whereas the first Purge took place entirely in a single house, beset on all sides by entitled murderers, The Purge: Anarchy stars Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) as a man who wanders out into the streets on a mission of revenge, but who gets sidetracked by protecting the innocent from a society that’s letting a little too much freedom go to their heads. (Okay, a LOT too much freedom.)
The Purge: Anarchy premieres in theaters on July 18, 2014.
