The last time that Samuel L. Jackson dropped in on “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and reprised his role as Nick Fury, it was a light-hearted and comedic scene that turned out to be one of the best moments of the season.
But things have changed since the last time Fury came on the “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” TV series. During the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, S.H.I.E.L.D. was brought to its knees by an internal threat and largely disbanded. Fury also faked his death and escaped to Europe.
However, Fury will resurface on “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” at least one more time this season. While speaking with Vulture, Jackson said that “I just shot the end-of-the-season show.”
Presumably, Jackson’s scene in the finale will reunite him with actor Clark Gregg, the performer behind Fury’s former right hand man, Phil Coulson.
Regarding “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Jackson explained that how his two cameo appearances came about.
“If [the ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ producers] ask Kevin Feige and Kevin says, ‘We’d like for you to do it,’ I do.” Jackson also promised that the end of The Winter Soldier “ties into the TV show. They wanted to tie that up.”
Jackson will also reprise his role as Nick Fury in The Avengers: Age of Ultron next year.
