In case you were one of those people who just couldn’t wait to get your hot little hands all over the long-in-development MMO for the popular role-playing game World of Darkness…well, it’s time to start coming up with other ways to occupy your time.
In a statement posted to Crave gaming site Destructoid, CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar said the company was halting development on the multiplayer version of the game that CCP first announced back in 2010.
“I am truly sorry that we could not deliver the experience that we aspired to make. We dreamed of a game that would transport you completely into the sweeping fantasy of World of Darkness, but had to admit that our efforts were falling regretfully short. One day I hope we will make it up to you.” — Hilmar Veigar
It seemed like an MMO edition of the WoD was a virtual no-brainer back in 2006 when CCP bought World of Darkness publisher White Wolf Games, but apparently, four years of work on the game just wasn’t producing the results CCP had hoped.
