Marvel’s “stealth” movie — the Disney-branded animated feature Big Hero 6 — is finally getting some stars on board to voice the crazy-quilt batch of superhero misfits.
Crave movie site /Film reported on a The Wrap exclusive that Maya Rudolph has been cast in an as-yet-undisclosed lead role in the adaptation of one of Marvel’s least-known properties ever to get the big-screen treatment.
Also, an NBC bio page for the new series “Believe” confirmed actress Jamie Chung was also tabbed for a role in the film, playing exo-suit wearing, Japanese hero and Big Hero 6 member Go Go Tomago.
The pair join T.J. Miller (“Silicon Valley”) as confirmed, but unannounced cast members in the futuristic comedy adventure about a boy and his pet robot who uncover a plot to destroy the city of San Fransokyo and put together a team of heroes to confront the threat.
Expect other name actors to round out the voice cast, although as Disney’s first animated foray into the Marvel Universe, the film continues to be one of the most under-the-radar productions around. I mean, how often do we not even know the voice cast for an animated film just over 6 months before its set to hit screens?
And we’ll all see what Disney’s cooked up when Big Hero 6 debuts Nov. 7.
