Earlier this year, the fan favorite animated series, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” finished its six season run. However, Star Wars won’t be off TV screens for very long.
This fall, the animation dream team of Dave Filoni (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”), Greg Weisman (“Young Justice”) and Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) are joining forces for “Star Wars: Rebels;” a new series that takes place between Star Wars Episode III and IV.
The series follows a small band of heroes including Hera, the captain a ship called The Ghost, Kanan, one of the few Jedi left in the galaxy, Ezra, a young boy who may have some talent in the Force; Sabine, a female Mandalorian; an extremely strong alien named Zeb and a droid nicknamed Chopper.
Disney has released the first full trailer for “Star Wars: Rebels;” which shows every member of the new team and reveals their primary adversary: the Inquisitor, an enigmatic Jedi hunter for the Empire.
“Star Wars: Rebels” will premiere with a one hour special on the Disney Channel this fall before moving to Disney XD for the regular weekly series.
