NBA Playoffs 2014: First Round Eulogy

There were more Game 7s in the first round than there have ever been in an entire NBA Playoffs in the league’s history. Yup, a lot of drama.

It’s really too bad we have to say good bye to eight more teams. But in light of each team’s early off-season, below are the largest viral videos of the season congruent to each newly eliminated team.

Better luck next year to all the teams sitting on the couch today. Here’s how we will always remember you…

Chicago Bulls

Sadly, the only thing Bulls fans will remember from this season —  other than Derrick Rose’s banged up knee — was the epic marriage proposal to one of the dancers. At least there are two Bulls fans still smiling…

Atlanta Hawks

…Were a Paul George half-step away from beating the Pacers in the first round (George walking on the court would have resulted in a Game 7 suspension).

It would have been just the second time in NBA Playoffs history a No. 1 seed had been eliminated in the first round.

Charlotte Bobcats

…Who knew their only chance at beating the Heat was to kill LeBron James. Well, other than somehow getting rid of Michael Jordan as owner.

Toronto Raptors

Terrence Ross is still the best dunker in the NBA.

Dallas Mavericks

…For coming ever so close to beating No. 1 seed and cross state rival San Antonio, in part because of this amazing Vince Carter three-pointer at the buzzer during Game 3.

Houston Rockets

…What you’ll really remember is the Damian Lillard dagger through your heart that sent you home after just 0.9 seconds on the clock. Instead, we’ll show you this:

Memphis Grizzlies

…For nearly beating league MVP Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder, even after giving up a ridiculous 4-point play like this:

Golden State Warriors

…That Steph Curry continues to establish himself as possibly the best pure shooter we’ve ever seen.
