Discovery Canada’s award-winning international production house EPI (Exploration Production Inc.) has announced a new project that will transport viewers on a six-episode high-intensity thrill ride – the new reality documentary series called “Megaspeed” will join an already-exciting line-up of other car- and speed-related programming.
Narrated by former Much VJ and current “CP24 BREAKFAST” co-host Steve Anthony, the series showcases the world’s most iconic motorsports events including the Bonneville Salt Flats, the European Rally Championship, Big Rig Truck Racing, the Mojave Mile, the Goodwood Vintage Revival, and the Baja 1000.
“Each hour-long episode features the world’s fastest drivers and daredevils – these people are just obsessed with speed and they have devoted either all of the time in their lives or all of the money in their lives to it,” explained Executive Producer Karen McCairley (“Mighty Ships,” “Alien Mysteries”). “It’s a real array of characters that we’re following. And we’re taking viewers behind-the-scenes, showing you places you’d never get to see otherwise as a spectator. The series follows the characters behind-the-scenes to look at what it took to lead up to this big race or record. We’re with them the whole way.”
The all-new original Canadian series will join Discovery’s Thursday Car Night beginning June 19th – “Fast n Loud” and “Vegas Rat Rods,” popular mainstays of this speed-related night.
“Megaspeed” begins on June 19th at 7pm, with an encore presentation at 11pm.
