Guardians Of The Galaxy Australian Trailer

Marvel has dropped the Australian trailer for the studio’s latest superhero offering, Guardians of the Galaxy.

The James Gunn-directed superhero comic adaptation features an all-star cast of Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, John C.Reilly, Zoe Saldana and former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista.

Pratt, also set to star in next year’s studio tent-pole Jurassic World, is interstellar adventurer Peter Quill, tasked with leading a rag-tag alliance against big bad Ronan The Accuser (Lee Pace). Aided by green assassin Gamora (Saldana), warrior tank Drax The Destroyer (Bautista), the genetically engineered, heavy weapon-toting raccoon Rocket Raccoon (Cooper) and Vin Diesel as the tree-like humanoid Groot, Quill is forced to keep Ronan away from a stolen orb powerful enough to overturn the fate of the galaxy.

Pratt is in the middle of a rapid ascension from television funny man on Parks and Recreation into Hollywood movie star, but said working on the CGI-heavy Guardians of the Galaxy wasn’t a difficult transition.

“It turns out it’s kind of the same as it not being CGI,” he told SuperHeroHype. “You’re still kind of just standing there, looking at something and pretending and saying the words, you know? It hasn’t been that hard.”

“So much of what actors do is just listening and responding and so when you’re working with a great actor, even when they’re off camera it’s very easy, just to listen to what they’re saying, respond, understand that they’re listening to you, there’s this connection there that just happens when you’re talking to people.”

Hitting Australian cinemas on August 7, Guardians of the Galaxy first appeared in Marvel Super-Heroes No. 18 way back in 1969 and is the latest Marvel US summer blockbuster after the hugely popular Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers movies.
