That’s exactly what happened Wednesday at Maracana Stadium in Brazil prefacing Spain’s matchup with Chile when around 100 ticket-less Chile fans somehow stormed past initial security and into the stadium, crashing down the entire media center in the process.
Aside from Spain losing their second consecutive game, what happened behind the scenes at Maracana Stadium is the biggest story no one is talking about. FIFA doesn’t want it known that — although they make millions upon millions of dollars each World Cup — they can’t provide sufficient security for a stadium housing over 70,000 fans.
Below is multiple footage of the ruckus. 85 intruders were reportedly detained and expected to be deported immediately. Personally, I love the Charles Woodson appearance.
