Today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, the executive producers of “The Flash” revealed who will play one of the Scarlet Speedster’s most prominent bad guys.
Wentworth Miller will guest star on “The Flash” as Leonard Snart, the man who will be Captain Cold. Originally created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, Captain Cold was the leader of the Rogues, a close knit group of the Flash’s greatest enemies. Captain Cold often had a moral code of villainy, as he kept the Rogues from killing women or children.
In the more recent New 52 reboot of DC’s comic book line, Captain Cold is a much younger man who was recently added to the Justice League despite his criminal background.
Wentworth is best known for starring as Michael Scofield in “Prison Break” for four seasons. This is actually Wentworth’s second time playing a DC villain, after supplying the voice of Deathstroke in “Young Justice.” Some of Wentworth’s other significant credits include “House,” “Joan of Arcadia,” Resident Evil: Afterlife, Underworld, The Loft and Stoker.

Given Captain Cold’s place among the Flash’s villains, it’s likely that Miller will be making multiple appearances during the first season. But that wasn’t explicitly stated during the TCA panel.
“The Flash” will premiere on Tuesday, October 07 on The CW.
