2015 Dodge Challenger a Brutal Force of Nature

The horsepower wars are alive and thriving and the Dodge brand muscle car arsenal is reloaded with the new 2015 Challenger. It’s got an all new supercharged 6.2 liter HEMI and the Hellcat is ready to roar.

For the first time in the Chrysler Group’s history, the Hellcat which starts at the unbelievable price of $59,995, comes with two keys…red and black. Get this, the red key fob is the only key that can unlock the full 707 horsepower and torque potential of the engine. With the black key fob, the driver is limited to a reduced engine output of 500 horsepower. So you know which one the teenager in your house is getting on those rare occasions that you actually allow him or her to drive it, right?

Then Dodge takes it a step further and offers a “Valet Mode” only available on the SRT Hellcat. This mode, when activated with a four digit pin crated by the owner, is activated, remaps the engine to significantly reduce horsepower and torque. The transmission locks out access to first gear and upshifts earlier than normal, then traction, steering and suspension are set to their “Street” settings, the paddle shifters, Drive Modes and Launch Control are all disabled. So unfortunately for you, Mr. Valet, there will be no joy riding tonight.

The Dodge and SRT brands now offer the most complete lineup of muscle cars on the market:

  • 2015 Dodge Challenger SXT model (V-6, 8 speed transmission, 305 HP)
  • 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T model (5.7 liter HEMI, 8 or 6 speed transmission)
  • All new 6.4 Liter HEMI Challenger Scat Pack and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker (485 HP)
  • Challenger SRT 392 (485 HP)
  • All New 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT HEMI Hellcat (707 HP)

The segment’s first 8 speed automatic transmission is available on both the new Dodge Challenger models so if you don’t drive stick (manual), no worries, you can still join in on all the fun.
