Comic-Con 2014: Marvel Reveals Ant-Man’s Costume In New Concept Art

The makers of the upcoming Ant-Man adaptation have been making the most of their visit to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Rolling in for the huge Marvel panel, they kicked things off by unveiling a new concept art poster for the film, one that prominently features Ant-Man’s costume.

Fans were treated to their first sneak peek of what the Ant-Man costume would look like at Comic-Con 2012, when then-director Edgar Wright revealed some early test footage that was never officially released outside the convention. The new artwork, drawn by Marvel’s own Andy Park, features the full costume and images of the film’s stars, Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas.

The film is currently slated for release in July 2015, with Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers: Age of Ultron still to be released before Marvel Studios is done with their Phase Two. Ant-Man and the film’s new director, Peyton Reed (The Break-Up, Bring It On), will carry the company into Phase Three.

Based on a script co-written by Anchorman writer/director Adam McKay, the film will see Douglas starring as Dr. Hank Pym, the discoverer of the Pym Particles which allow the titular hero to shrink down to the size of an insect, while Rudd plays a thief who steals the Ant-Man suit.

Though there’s presently no word on who they will be playing, the film is also set to star Patrick Wilson, Corey Stoll, Evageline Lilly, Matt Gerald and Michael Pena. Ant-Man is expected to go into production next month. See the Ant-Man concept art poster, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, below.
