Comic-Con 2014: Jonny Weston & Sofia Black-D’Elia on Project Almanac

So much of Comic-Con is spent talking about adaptations, remakes and sequels, it’s sometimes too easy to forget that there are brand new stories being told that are trying to build a rapport with the fans in San Diego. One of those films this year is Project Almanac, a found footage time travel movie starring Jonny Weston and Sophia Black D’Elia as teenagers who discover plans for a time machine, build it, and wind up regretting that decision.

We ran into Jonny Weston and Sophia Black D’Elia at the Paramount Studios press line where we found out which time travel movies they had to watch to make Project Almanac (there were actually quite a lot), ponder why anyone who had seen those movies would even think about traveling back in time, and ask them if kids these days even know what an almanac is anymore.

Project Almanac screened at Comic-Con 2014, and Most Craved host Silas Lesnick was there, and he calls it “shockingly good.” See the film when it arrives in theaters on January 30, 2015, and see his review on the latest Comic-Con Update!
