The Flash is coming, and he’s coming fast, and the folks responsible for bringing the CW’s new series starring the scarlet speedster to the screen includes Andrew Kreisberg, a producer of the show alongside Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns. We talked to him at San Diego Comic-Con about the show and his childhood love of the 1990 Flash series that resulted in one of his favorite moments from the new pilot with John Wesley Shipp.

Kreisberg and Berlanti also produced Arrow, the show which served as the springboard for Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen to race right into headlining his own show. Kreisberg also talked about where the characters are going to go in a series that deals with the miraculous effects of granting people super powers, as well as the importance of heart in the story to ground all the action.
The Flash debuts on October 7 on the CW.
