Every year, “American Horror Story” switches gears and starts a new storyline with returning cast members taking on different characters in different cities and sometimes even in different time periods.
For the upcoming fourth season, “American Horror Story” is becoming “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” as the story moves to Jupiter, Florida in 1952 while chronicling the lives of the performers in the aforementioned freak show.
Although the premiere of “American Horror Story: Freak Show” is just over a month away, FX is releasing small teaser trailers for the season. CraveOnline is proud to present an exclusive look at the latest “Freak Show” teaser, “Sword Swallower;” which as the name suggests, is fairly self-explanatory.

For Jessica Lange’s final season on “American Horror Story,” she’ll be playing Elsa Mars, the manager of the freak show. Other returning cast members include Sarah Paulson as conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler; Kathy Bates as the Bearded Lady, Effil Darling; Evan Peters as Jimmy Darling, Effil’s son; Angela Bassett as Desiree Dupree and Emma Roberts as Maggie.
Michael Chiklis is also joining the cast this season as Wendell Del Toredo, the freak show’s strongman who used to be married to Effil Darling and is currently married to Desiree. Wendell is also the father of Jimmy Darling. Wes Bentley and Patti LaBelle will also have roles in the new season.
“American Horror Story: Freak Show” will premiere on Fox on Wednesday, October 8.
