Formula One star Daniel Ricciardo recently tested out his driving skills on two wheels in a one-on-one challenge against Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat.
The racing stars are pitted against one another in a Red Bull produced preview for the Epic Rise dirt bike challenge at the Ciglione track in Malpensa, near the Italian city of Varese.
In the video, the Aussie and Russian show off their Italian language skills before trying their hands at uphill dirt bike racing.
“I’ve done quite a lot of races, but this is the first time I’ve been in this much trouble,” deadpans Ricciardo in Italian.
“I’m going out to win, as always.”
The two encounter difficulty attempting to make their way up the steep slopes in loose earth, a major adjustment for professionals more adept at speeding along conventional race tracks.
“Everything goes well to start with. But just for a few seconds, and just when you think you’ve nailed it…BOOM! You hit the slope and that’s when the trouble starts,” explains Kvyat.
