As many of you have likely heard, Adrian Peterson was indicted on a felony charge of injury to a child. Mr. Peterson had an active sponsorship by Nike up until this point; in response to the charges, they decided it was in their best interest to suspend its endorsement contract with him.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell tweeted, quoting the athletics company:
“Nike in no way condones child abuse or domestic violence of any kind and has shared our concerns with the NFL. We have suspended our contract with Adrian Peterson.”
This suspension of contract is another bullet point in a growing list of broken sponsorships that resulted from Adrian Peterson’s domestic violence case. For more details on the fallout that is affecting Adrian and the Minnesota Vikings, check out the rest of the story at NESN.
