Star Trek 3 Production To Likely Begin Within Six Months

Star Trek 3 (unnamed as of yet) has been in a bit of a holding pattern due to the fact that JJ Abrams is busy with a little project on the side. You may have heard of it

Fear not, however, because it is rumored that Roberto Orci (of Amazing Spider-Man 2 fame) will be in the director’s chair for the next Star Trek iteration. The question of when production will begin has been floating around as well, and we may have just got our answer.

Zachary Quinto (Spock in the two JJ Abrams Star Trek films) was interviewed recently on the Today show, and he had the following to say:

“I think it’s on the horizon. Things are rumbling, so I have a feeling that we will be in production sometime in the next six months.”

So, there you have it. Hopefully Quinto’s statement is correct, and that Star Trek production will be beginning some time before March of 2015. For a clip of the interview, and more on this story, head on over to Cinema Blend.
