The man at the forefront of the X-Men films since the year 2000 will indeed be in the director’s chair for the upcoming Apocalypse.
There were some legal problems plaguing Mr. Singer, namely sexual abuse allegations earlier this year, but those charges were dropped; things can apparently go forward with production as planned.
Set in the early eighties, many of the characters from First Class will be returning to reprise their roles in the fight against a new villain from North Africa; you might recognize the name “Apocalypse” if you’re familiar at all with the comics. Considered one of the strongest villains in the X-Men universe, this next end-of-the-world struggle should be quite amazing to watch.
Bryan Singer has handled X-Men well; here’s hoping that continues in a couple years when Apocalypse hits theaters. For more on Mr. Singer and his upcoming movie, check out the coverage at Cinema Blend.
