Over the weekend, Colin Farrell couldn’t resist revealing that he had landed one of the lead roles in the new season of “True Detective.” Today, HBO made it official and announced who Farrell’s co-star will be.
Vince Vaughn and Farrell have been signed to star in “True Detective’ Season 2. Vaughn will play Frank Semyon, “a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.” Farrell’s character is Ray Velcoro, a man described as “a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.”
