As Bill Willingham and Mark Buckingham’s Fables races towards its conclusion as a monthly comic book, the deluxe editions have caught up to a pivotal storyline that ended the first half of the series.
On Wednesday, October 1, Fables: The Deluxe Edition Book Nine hits comic book stores and retailers with a collection of Fables # 70 to # 82. From the description, “The final battle between the free Fables of the mundane world and the Empire occupying their former Homelands is here! The creatures of myth and fairytale lore have assembled together to finally face the Adversary and his hordes. But victory will not come without a price–who will live and who will die for the fate of the Homelands?”
Ahead of the release, Vertigo Comics has provided CraveOnline with ten pages from Buckingham’s Fables sketchbook that are included in the deluxe edition. We’ve also got the introduction to this edition by actor Phil LaMarr, as he professes his love for the Fables comic book.
