Remember 2004’s The Machinist? Ya know, the one where Christian Bale lost a whole lot of weight for his role?
Well, it turns out that he may have gone a little too far at one point, letting his weight loss get the better of him. According to Michael Ironside, his co-star in the film, Christian Bale’s ass was nearly falling off. Literally. His ass was sagging off his bones because he’d lost so much weight for the role that his body was beginning to metabolize things other than fat.
I’m glad there’s no pictures to go along with this, because quite frankly, I’m not sure I’d ever look at Christian Bale the same way again. Although this does speak volumes regarding how far Mr. Bale is willing to go to play a role in an authentic manner.
