Anyone coming into Star-Spangled War Stories Featuring G.I. Zombie with the third issue may find it a bit disorienting to get up to speed. So here’s the series’ premise in just 46 words:
On behalf of the U.S. government, female soldier of fortune, Carmen King has gone undercover within a domestic terrorist organization led by a man named Duke. King’s only partner is a dead man named Jared Kabe, but comic fans know him as G.I. Zombie!
Last issue, as the feds closed in on Duke and his men, they launched a missile towards Washington D.C. with an unknown payload. Fortunately for the people in our nation’s capital, G.I. Zombie was able to jump on the missile and bring it down before it arrived at its target.
But it could be very bad news for the people of Sutterville, Tennessee. In this exclusive preview from Star-Spangled War Stories Featuring G.I. Zombie # 3, Jared emerges from the wreckage of the missile as he tries to determine what the payload was. Meanwhile, King attempts to maintain her cover as she slowly unravels Duke’s larger plan.
Finally, we have the standard cover for issue three by Darwyn Cooke and the variant cover by “Reverend” Dave Johnson!
Writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray continue their collaboration with artist Scott Hampton in Star-Spangled War Stories Featuring G.I. Zombie # 3, which is coming to comic book stores this Wednesday, October 22.
