In the first Iron Man movie, Clark Gregg made his debut as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson before reprising his role several times in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But during the events of The Avengers, Coulson was seemingly killed… or was he?
In “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Gregg is once again playing the role of Phil Coulson, as he assembles a new team to track down and eliminate threats from newly created superhumans and alien technology left over from the Chitauri invasion.
Standing with Coulson are elite agents Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) and Melinda May (Ming Na), with super-geniuses Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) as well as the renegade computer hacker known as Skye (Chloe Bennet), a young woman whose origins may shake the foundations of the MCU.
While the greatest enemies of S.H.I.E.L.D. may lie within, the larger mystery is Coulson himself. How did he survive his apparent death? And what will be the price of his resurrection?
