German company Playmobil is making its own movie. Yes, it’s likely in response to Danish competitor LEGO and their wildly-successful games and films based on its toy lines.
A DreamWorks veteran has been chosen to helm the project, investors have combined and brought an estimated 80 million to the table, and we’ll hopefully see enough good voice talent and a story endearing enough to be worthy of taking the spotlight from LEGO. At least for a small while, that is.
