This may seem obvious to some, but the nearly forty year-old Ray Allen is likely considering retirement instead of signing with a team halfway through the regular season.
He’s had a decent career, consisting of two championship rings and ten All-Star appearances over nineteen seasons. His last year with the Miami Heat wasn’t the greatest though, as his stats fell quite low.
If Allen was to re-up for another season in the NBA, it’s a commonly voiced prediction that he’d choose to follow LeBron over to Cleveland. That’s a big if, though. Until we find out what he decides for sure, retirement is probably the safest assumption. He’d be exiting the NBA on a bit of a downswing, but he could still leave with his head held high.
