A&E Checks Back Into The ‘Bates Motel’ In March

After the disastrous pairing of “Bates Motel” and “Those Who Kill” in 2014, A&E is handing their Monday nights to Carlton Cuse, the executive producer of “Bates Motel” and “The Returned.”

At the Television Critics Association Press Tour, A&E announced that “Bates Motel” Season 3 will premiere on Monday, March 9 alongside “The Returned,” an American adaptation of the French drama, “Les Revenants.”

A&E has announced that Bates Motel: Season 3 will premiere on Monday, March 9th, along with the debut of their new series, The Returned.

In the new season of “Bates Motel,” Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) continues to lose his grip on sanity while getting increasingly jealous at the newly healed bond between his half-brother, Dylan (Max Thieriot) and their mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga). And while Norma gets closer to Sheriff Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell), her brother Caleb (Kenny Johnson) and Norman’s ex-obsession, Bradley (Nicola Peltz) are coming back to White Pine Bay.

Former “Revolution” star Tracy Spiradakos is joining the “Bates Motel” cast this season, alongside Ryan Hurst and Kevin Rahm.

As for “The Returned,” the American adaptation is expected to stay close to the French original series, as a small town is rocked by a series of unexplained resurrections. Basically, the original “Les Revenants” series was like ABC’s “Resurrection,” except it was good… and it came first.

Perennial TV guest star Mark Pellegrino headlines the cast of “The Returned” alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Jeremy Sisto (“Suburgatory”), Kevin Alejandro (“True Blood”) and Michelle Forbes (“Powers”).

Both “Bates Motel” and “The Returned” will have ten episodes in their respective seasons.
