After dozens of applications flooded in, the final contestants for the second season of the hit cooking competition show “Masterchef Canada” – they are all vying for not only the coveted title of Masterchef but the $100,000 prize.
Amongst the new competitors is a retired pro-football player, a rural veterinarian, a recording artist, a bus driver, and a Canadian military veteran. In the first episode, participants will create their own signature dish for tasting by the celeb judges: Michael Bonacini, Alvin Leung, and Claudio Aprile – only those with the most impressive plates receive a coveted white apron and have the opportunity to reach the next level of the competition. In the second episode the auditions continue, and the remaining home cooks battle it out to make it into the Top 16 of “MasterChef Canada.”
“The first season of ‘MasterChef Canada’ became an instant hit for CTV, and we’re looking forward to introducing this new group of incredibly talented home cooks to the country at 7pm on Sunday nights,” said Phil King, President of CTV, Sports, and Entertainment Programming, on their website. “Coming from a variety of backgrounds, these home cooks all have the passion and drive necessary to bring home the ‘MasterChef Canada’ trophy. Our viewers have a real foodie fight to look forward to this season.”
The new season of “Masterchef Canada” begins on Sunday, February 8th at 7pm on CTV and CTV Go.
