When NBC announced “Heroes Reborn” almost one year ago, it was uncertain whether any of the series regulars would return for Tim Kring’s relaunched franchise. But while we wait for word about Zach Quinto, NBC already has another Zachary in place.
At the Television Critics Association Press Tour, NBC announced that Zachary Levi will have one of the leading roles in “Heroes Reborn,” presumably as a main character. Levi is best known for starring as the title character in “Chuck” on NBC. He also appeared in Thor: The Dark World.
No further details about Levi’s character were revealed, but he told TVLine that “There are a few franchises I’ve always wanted to be a part of, and ‘Heroes’ is one of them. ‘Chuck’ gave me the opportunity to wield some fun powers, but an entire world with superpowers is a world I’ve always wanted to explore.”

Levi added that he was “so grateful for the opportunity to work with Tim [Kring], and the awesome team around him, in bringing this to life. Moreover, to be working with NBC again is such a reward in itself, as my bonds and relationships there are deep.”
Thus far, Jack Coleman is the only original “Heroes” cast member slated to return for the 13 episode “Heroes Reborn” miniseries. The “Heroes” relaunch will premiere this summer on NBC. with production expected to begin soon.
