This summer, Sullivan Stapleton will finish his four season run on Cinemax’s Strike Back. But if NBC picks up his next project, Stapleton won’t even be off of TV for longer than a month.
Deadline is reporting that Stapleton has been cast in the male lead of NBC’s Blindspot, a new drama that centers on a young woman who is discovered alone and heavily tattooed in New York City after her memory has apparently been wiped. Thor co-star, Jaimie Alexander will play the Jane Doe, while Stapleton will portray FBI Agent Kurt Weller, a man who is assigned to investigate Jane because his name was tattooed on her back.

In addition to his role on Strike Back, Stapleton is best known for starring in 300: Rise of an Empire. Reportedly, Stapleton was highly sought after during the current TV pilot season before settling on Blindspot.
Stapleton is also starring in the upcoming films Kill Me Three Times and Cut Snake. The Blindspot pilot will be filmed soon and NBC will place it in contention for a slot on its fall schedule.
