The sixteen-time NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers have fallen to perhaps their greatest depth, as they’ve just been knocked out of playoff contention at the earliest point in the NBA season since they were even known as the Los Angeles Lakers.
That’s right, it’s been since 1960, when the team moved from Minneapolis to Los Angeles, that they’ve been put out of the running so early.
They did win their last game versus the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night, but a win by the New Orleans Pelicans sealed the deal. Many expected them to be out of the playoffs because of Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash being on the bench, but maybe not this early in the season.
Thanks to NESN for the update on the Lakers’ mildly depressing season.
