Hamish Blake and Andy Lee will go head-to-head again in the race for this year’s Gold Logie, in a list that looks remarkably like ones from previous years.
In a sign that perhaps it’s time for Australian TV to start looking for some new (and exciting) talent, all nominees for the 2015 Gold Logie for Most Popular TV personality have been nominated for the award before.
Other nominees for the top gong at the Aussie TV’s Night of Nights include Offspring star Asher Keddie, Carrie Bickmore from Channel 10’s The Project, The Block host and 2014 Gold Logie winner Scott Cam and Stephen Peacocke of Home and Away.
Cam, Keddie and Black have all taken the little gold statue home. The Gold Logie and “Most Popular” categories are awarded by readers of TV Week, while “Outstanding” categories are selected by an industry jury.
While nominations are dominated by the free-to-air main channels, Pay TV and digital channels have gotten a few nods, with Foxtel receiving nine nominations, ABC3 getting three, 7mate, ABC 2 and NITV two each, and SBS 2 and 7Two each receiving one.
The Logie Awards will be announced on May 3.
