Earlier this month, David Duchovny appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and said that Mitch Pileggi and William S. Davis would return for Fox’s upcoming revival of The X-Files. Today, Pileggi confirmed it.
“Very happy to announce that Walter Skinner will once again be getting all grumpy and bitchy with his two wayward kids,” wrote Pileggi on his twitter account. “Very happy.”

Pileggi appeared on all nine seasons of The X-Files and reprised his role as Walter Skinner in the two X-Files feature films as well. Gillian Anderson will also be returning as Dana Scully, but no other original series cast members are currently confirmed to return.
The X-Files six episode miniseries is scheduled to begin filming this summer. Fox has not announced a release date for the revival, but a 2016 premiere seems likely.
