French actress Marion Cotillard will star in the newest Xavier Dolan film (Mommy, I Killed My Mother), which will be in French, alongside Lea Seydoux (The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) – production is set to begin next month.
The new flick will be entitled It’s Only the End of the World (Juste La Fin Du Monde). The ensemble cast includes Nathalie Baye (Laurence Anyways, another Dolan project) and Gaspard Ulliel (Saint Laurent, Hannibal Rising).
Cotillard, known for her roles in movies such as The Dark Knight Rises and Inception, won an Academy Award in 2007 for her work in La môme. The new Dolan movie is based on a play by Jean-Luc Lagarce about a writer who returns home and plans to tell his family about his impending death. According to The Canadian Press, Dolan says he was introduced to the play many years ago by muse Anne Dorval.
In the same article, Dolan said he would start shooting the Cotillard-led film this May before he ventures into an English-language flick, The Life and Death of John F. Donovan, which stars Jessica Chastain.
