Marvel Studios may be sitting out Comic-Con this year, but that doesn’t mean Disney won’t be there in full force. The studio just announced that there will be a panel dedicated to Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Friday, July 10.
The exact time of the panel has yet to be announced, as well as the location (but you’d better believe it’ll be in Hall H). Disney describes the panel thusly (via Coming Soon): Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy, director J.J. Abrams, writer Lawrence Kasdan, and special guests provide a special look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Without a mighty Marvel sneak peek at upcoming superhero movies, it stands to reason that Disney is going to want to pull out all the stops for their The Force Awakens presentation, or risk igniting the fury of thousands of geeks. Exclusive footage and hopefully at least a handful of cast members will be necessary to satisfy the hungry crowds at Comic-Con 2015, and we thoroughly expect Disney to deliver.
Comic-Con 2015 would also be the perfect place for Disney to make official announcements about their upcoming Star Wars movies, including Rogue One and the second spin-off, reportedly about fan favorite character Boba Fett, which just lost director Josh Trank and is obviously in need of a new director to take his place.
Head on over to Coming Soon for more details about the other Star Wars panels, including presentations dedicated to publishing, toys and collectibles. And keep coming back to CraveOnline as our Comic-Con 2015 coverage ramps up!
