After a long hiatus, animation icon Bruce Timm is back with the newest DC animated film, Justice League: Gods and Monsters.
Don’t let the title fool you. This isn’t the Justice League that you remember. In this world, Kal-El doesn’t exist, and Superman (Benjamin Bratt) is the son of General Zod! Wonder Woman (Tamara Taylor) is Bekka of the New Gods, an immortal who is running away from her own dark past. Nor is Bruce Wayne Batman in this reality. Instead, the mantle of the Batman falls on Kirk Langstrom (Michael C. Hall), a man who accidentally transformed himself into a vampire!
Within the world created by Timm and Alan Burnett, the Justice League is feared by both the government it serves and the people it protects. And perhaps with good reason! But someone is working against the League and outmaneuvering them at every turn. Now the world believes that the Justice League has gone rogue.
In the final preview scene from Justice League: Gods and Monsters, the team is cornered by the U.S. military and forced to choose whether they will save humanity… or rule it.
Sam Liu directed Justice League: Gods and Monsters from a script by Burnett. The film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow, July 28.
