This is Jackie Chamoun, a Lebanese skier participating in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Obviously, as you can tell from these photos, she is causing quite a stir for something other than her slalom.
Not too long ago, the 22-year-old Chamoun shot racy photos for a calendar in Lebanon’s Faraya mountains. The pics featured the skier covering up her naughty bits with strategically placed ski equipment. The provocative photos are certainly garnering her attention but a leaked behind-the-scenes video from the photo shoot has really lit a fire in her native country.
The video shows Chamoun topless, without leaving anything to the imagination. Once the clip was aired on Lebanese television, a flood of complaints led to Lebanon’s Youth and Sports Minister Faisal Karami calling for an investigation into the photos to ensure “the protection of Lebanon’s reputation.”
Chamoun has taken to Facebook to apologize, saying, “The video and photos that you are now seeing are part of the making of the preparation. It wasn’t supposed to go public. I want to apologize to all of you, I know that Lebanon is a conservative country and this is not the image that reflects our culture.”
Chamoun is actually participating in her second Winter Olympics representing Lebanon. The Lebanese Olympic Committee met yesterday afternoon and the head of the country’s Olympic delegation said Chamoun had been barred from speaking to the media.
