Margot Robbie Pitched A Harley Quinn Movie To Warner Bros. That’s Being Made

Warner Bros. doesn’t even know what Suicide Squad will do in August, but they’ve already greenlit a Harley Quinn spin-off starring Margot Robbie and “several of DC’s female heroes and villains”. Yeah. I’m down.

Details are being closely guarded but names such as Batgirl and Birds of Prey have surfaced, although in what capacity, it’s not clear. Warner Bros. isn’t commenting.  There is also a scribe penning the script but those details, too, are being kept secret, although it is known that the writer is female.

Oh, and it was all Margot Robbie’s idea.

Sources say that Robbie was the impetus for the project, adding that when she got the part for the movie, she dove deep into the comics to learn as much as possible about the character. In the process, she fell for DC’s female characters. She brought on the writer to help develop the project and brought it to Warners, which snapped it up.

I don’t know how movies get greenlit, but we can just all assume that when Margot Robbie walks into a Warner Bros. office with a pitch, everybody nods and tells her to add as many zeros she wants to the check. That’s how I would do it. Although, sadly, I’d have to limit her to two. I have Amazon Prime, and she could use that whenever she wanted. Can’t really get a better deal than that.
