Here’s What ‘We Listen. We Don’t Judge’ Trend on TikTok Means

A new trend called “We Listen, We Don’t Judge” has been going viral on TikTok. Many social media users are participating in this trend and sharing their deeply personal experiences on the video-sharing platform. This has intrigued a lot of netizens, who wish to learn where the “We Listen, We Don’t Judge” trend came from and what it means.

So what is this new trend? Here is the explanation behind the same.

‘We Listen, We Don’t Judge’ trend meaning

The “We Listen, We Don’t Judge” trend typically involves two users, who are either friends or are a couple. They sit next to each other, say the aforementioned words in unison, and take turns sharing deep secrets or confessions. The sharer of the secret/confession surprises the listener, who isn’t allowed to judge, despite how they may feel about what they learned.

Viewers witnessing the trend and the participants performing it have found it to be quite hilarious. For example, popular TikTok star @mmmjoemele performed the trend with his girlfriend. His video has racked up over 7 million views as of writing.

In this video, Joe Mele admits to his girlfriend that on the day they had their first date, he had arranged a follow-up date, in case their date had not gone well. She was shocked and attempted to press him for details, only for him to reply, “We listen and we don’t judge.” The girlfriend then said that whenever Mele would play video games, and she needed attention, she would unplug the router. This prompted a shocked reaction from him, who insisted he would judge her, though she said he could not.

Here is another example from prominent YouTube and TikTok creators, @samandmonica. Here, Monica admits to Sam that she used to shave for One Direction concerts when she was 13. This was because she genuinely believed they would fall in love with her. Sam did not judge her for this and accepted what he learned.

Here’s the video shared by the couple on TikTok:

Later, Sam told Monica that he once bought the same shoes and purple hat as Justin Bieber. He admitted he thought it would help him become more popular and get girls. Monica was surprised and turned her face away, slowly laughing. Sam then accused her of judging, which she denied, and admitted that she would have loved him back then, even though he did that. Evidently, netizens are having a lot of fun making and sharing their own versions of this trend.
