Cocktail Recipes: Labor Day Edition

Of all the holidays that give us an excuse to gather with friends and family and party, Labor Day is probably the one we most deserve. That’s because Labor Day is the celebration of us, the workers in society. Granted, not everyone out there is actually working, but who cares? Let’s end summer the right way, shall we? Enjoy these delicious Labor Day cocktails from some of our friends in the spirits community.

LUCY JUNE

Ingredients:
2 oz. Brugal Extra Dry Rum
1.5 oz. Boiron Pear Puree
.75 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
.5 oz. Enriched Simple Syrup
3 Dashes of Dale DeGroff Pimento bitters

Preparation:
Shake first 4 ingredients together, strain over ice in a coupe glass. Garnish with 3 dashes of pimento bitters.

IRON CLAD PALOMA

Ingredients:
2 parts Hornitos Plata Tequila
3/4 part Lime Juice
1 part Grapefruit Juice
1/2 part Agave Nectar
3 Raspberries
Soda Water

Preparation:
Pour all ingredients, except the soda water, into a shaker with ice. Shake and double strain into a pilsner glass filled with ice. Top with soda and garnish with a salted rim and lime wedge.

MONTAUK

Ingredients:
1 oz. NOLET’S Silver Dry Gin
1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
1 oz. Dry Vermouth

Preparation:
Built in the glass over ice, serve with a twist of lemon.

PATRON AND TONIC

Ingredients:
2 oz. Patrón Silver
Tonic Water (We recommend Q Tonic)
Ice
Lime Wedges

Preparation:
The quickest way to the ultimate in Labor Day relaxation, simply drop a couple of ice cubes in a glass, add the Patrón Silver and Q Tonic, then garnish with a lime or two.

EFFORTLES

S LABOR DAY

Ingredients:
2 oz. Brugal Extra Dry
.5 oz. Simple Syrup
2 oz. Soda Water
2 slices of Cucumber (cubed)
2 slices of Lemon (cubed)
4 Basil Leaves

Preparation:
Muddle cucumber, lemon, basil and simple syrup. Add Brugal Extra Dry, shake and top with soda water.

TORO MARGARITA

Ingredients:
2 parts Hornitos Plata Tequila
3/4 part John DeKuyper & Sons O3 Premium Orange Liqueur
1/2 part Lemon Juice
1/2 part Pineapple Juice
2 Pieces of Sage

Preparation:
Pour ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass with ice and garnish with the sage leaves.
