The pricing for the Oculus Rift’s Oculus Touch motion controllers has been unofficially revealed, with UK retail chain GAME advertising them for £190.
The Oculus Touch controllers haven’t received an official price from their retailers, but an image posted on Twitter by reporter Nick Summers revealed how much they will sell for when they finally reach stores before Christmas, with a banner in a GAME store revealing that they will set buyers back exactly £189.99

When you add this price on to the £549 the Oculus Rift headset costs, then its price starts to draw closer to the more expensive HTC Vive which, following its post-Brexit inflation, is now retailing for £749. This means that at £739 for the headset and the extra Oculus Touch controllers, getting the full Oculus Rift experience is only £10 cheaper than the more powerful HTC Vive.
However, unlike the Vive’s bundled motion controllers, the Rift does not require purchasing the Touch controllers in order to use the headset, meaning that it can still be the cheaper option of the two if users are comfortable with using the Xbox One controller that it ships with. Unfortunately, this does mean that those hoping the Rift would be demonstrably cheaper even with the Touch included will be disappointed.
The Touch controllers have been a long time coming for the Oculus Rift, which launched without them in the US earlier this year. Meanwhile, the Rift was only officially launched in the UK this week, so new owners of the headset shouldn’t have to wait long to get their hands on the upcoming motion controllers. An exact release date and the official price reveal is set to be announcement during next month’s Oculus Connect conference in San Jose.
