There are so many things we can thank the Irish for: leprechauns, redheads, the Celtic cross, U2, Ulysses, Riverdance…okay, maybe some of those aren’t to your liking, but we’d all agree that the Irish know how to do alcohol right. In addition to the beer and whiskey the country is known for, there’s Irish cream, that boozy caffeinated concoction that can act as both a liqueur and a dessert.
Molly’s Irish Cream, which is made from aged Irish whiskey, Irish spirits, and chocolate flavors, contains a higher percentage of dairy cream than other brands, resulting in a smoother, richer drinking experience. The following recipes, provided by Molly’s, are ideal for whipping up something special in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Perhaps they should change the saying to “Drink me, I’m Irish.”
Irish Coffee Shake
Ingredients:
- 4 ounces Molly’s Irish Cream
- 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
- 1 1/2 cups coffee ice cream
- 3 ounces coffee liqueur
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 whipped cream
- Chocolate shavings
Preparation:
Add all the ingredients (except chocolate shavings) to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a tall glass. Top with additional whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.

Molly’s Chocolate Shake
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup chocolate fudge sauce
- 1 cup milk
- 2 1/2 ounces Molly’s Irish Cream
- 1/2 cup chocolate ice cream
- Green sprinkles
Preparation:
Dip the rim of a tall glass in the chocolate fudge sauce, allowing it to drip down the side. Place the green sprinkles on a small plate, then dip the glass onto the plate so the sprinkles create an edge. Set glass aside. Add the remaining chocolate fudge sauce to a blender along with the milk, Molly’s Irish Cream, and ice cream. Blend until smooth. Pour into prepared glass.

Boozy Shamrock Shake
Ingredients:
- 6 cups vanilla ice cream
- 4 ounces creme de menthe liqueur
- 3 ounces vodka
- 3 ounces Molly’s Irish Cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream
- Green sprinkles
Preparation:
Combine vanilla ice cream, creme de menthe, vodka, Molly’s Irish Cream, and vanilla extract in a blender. Blend until smooth. Divide mixture between two tall glasses. If desired, top with whipped cream and green sprinkles.

Molly’s “Irish Kiss”
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Molly’s Irish Cream
- 1/4 ounce Peppermint Schnapps
- Cocoa powder
- Mint
Preparation:
Pour Molly’s Irish Cream and Peppermint Schnapps into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with cocoa powder and mint.
Espresso Martini
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Molly’s Irish Cream
- 1/4 ounce vodka
- 1 shot cold espresso
- 3 – 5 coffee beans
Preparation:
Combine Irish Cream, vodka, and cold espresso in shaker with ice. Shake and strain into martini glass. Garnish with coffee beans.
Chocolatini
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Molly’s Irish Cream
- 1/4 ounce vodka
- 1/4 ounce chocolate liqueur
- Cocoa powder
Preparation:
Pour Molly’s Irish Cream, vodka, and chocolate liqueur into shaker with ice. Shake and strain into martini glass. Top with cocoa powder.
